Aegina
is an island of about 85 square kilometres and is about 20 kilometers from
the port of Piraeus. The island’s resident population is about 11,000.
It is an excellent destination for visitors wanting a relaxing, quiet holiday
which can be combined with visits to Athens, the Peloponnese and other islands.
The island benefits from several good beaches, many traditional tavernas and
bars, some excellent scenery and walks, and important archaeological sites
and museums. This makes it a good destination for a holiday or short break
all year round.
Transfers from Athens International Airport are straightforward, with good
transport links to Piraeus and frequent crossings to and from the island.
